About David Ho

I think my interest in Engineering began in my junior years, when my best friend and I deconstructed and reverse engineered his mothers hairdryer and rebuilt it with the aim of blowing out cold air one extremely hot summers day. Inevitably it explode when we plugged it back in, although it did work for around 5 seconds before it went bang. I promptly left my best pal to face the wrath of his dear mother. This led on to dabbling in various other projects of taking things apart to see how they worked until I eventually joined the RAF as an Avionics Technician. Working on various aircraft types where I received professional training on basically, taking things apart, understanding how it works, repairing it, putting it back together and testing, albeit this time I was following tried and tested methods. After 12 years in the RAF I have come away with excellent training, qualifications in the form of a BEng (Hons) and invaluable practical experience, particularly on electrical systems. I also developed a good understanding of mechanical systems having worked within multi-role teams where cross training was carried out.I currently work as an Project Manager representing my parent company in the support and delivery of important programmes and projects for high profile clients across diverse sectors ranging from Defence to Transport and Utilities. Additionally, I have worked in the rail industry where I enjoyed the privilege of leading a team of specialists delivering BAU services publishing operating notices and possession orders alongside overseeing business development and strategic planning, focusing on end users and development of the team.My passion lies within projects and engineering where I have an interest in the renewable energy, defence, technology and construction sectors. I feel strongly about making a difference and contributing towards the things that I care about. This is why I love project management paired with a backdrop of engineering as it plays such an integral part in everything we interact with and is vital for our future global ambitions.
