Responsible for planning, developing and articulating curriculum and utilizing interdisciplinary strategies and techniques in differentiation to meet the varied needs of a diverse classroom and school.Worked closely with administration and support staff to increase performance on state exams and meet federal standards for No Child Left Behind (ESEA) as well as budgetary issues, and development of the school as a science, math and engineering magnet.

Began as the 6th grade earth science teacher in 2002. Beginning in the 2004 school year, 6th grade went to a contained classroom and all 6th grade teachers were responsible for planning and instruction of all subjects. From 2002 to 2004, as the earth science teacher in the building, worked closely with other middle and high school science teachers to vertically align the science curriculum in the district to increase performance on state exams. As 6th grade team leader from 2002 throgh 2007 I was also responsible for planning and overseeing team meetings and activities, coordinating purchasing for the team, and compiling and analyzing data to inform instruction. As gifted and talented program coordinator for the school, I implemented identification of gifted and talented students through teacher recommendation and formal assessment.I also developed and implemented school wide gifted and talented programming.
