I have been in the full service restoration industry for over 25 years now. I began as carpet and upholstery cleaning technician in 1997 and from there worked myself through the ranks completing thousands of jobs from fire, water, mold, sewage, storm, etc. I am currently a Triple Master and Mold Removal Specialist with the IICRC. I was an estimator with the restoration company I worked for, for over 16 years and have also trained competitors and adjusters on the use of Xactimate and Simsol. With my experience in restoration, I was also a State of Tennessee Firefighter Instructor I, EMT-Advanced and TEMA HAZMAT Technician among many other emergency services related certifications, for 9 years before moving to Phoenx in 2017. In 2012, I was able to finally realize a dream of mine and became an IICRC approved instructor currently teaching the Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician, Health and Safety Technician, Odor Control Technician, Water Restoration Technician, Applied Structural Drying, and Trauma and Crime Scene Technician courses at Reets Drying Academy.With my background also in firefighting, I'm able to bring a different perspective to instructing fire damage restoration and give students a look at what most of them will never be able to see. In September of 2019, I was voted in by the IICRC BOD to serve as Chair of the Education Committee with the oversight of all course creation, development, and revision. In October of 2018, I was elected to the IICRC Board of Directors where I was eventually voted in as the 1st VP. With my positions at the IICRC now behind me, I concentrate on education and research at Reets Drying Academy.I am very blessed and thankful.
