The role consisted of leading DCO activities with the IPC, securing grid access, supply chain development, stakeholder engagement and optimising the business case for delivery.Also UK Country Manager for all of Vattenfall’s UK activities (£250m/annum turnover), reporting directly to a Vattenfall Group Executive Committee member. Responsible for a portfolio of administration and business representation activities, including statutory accounts, government and regulatory affairs, media affairs, shared service support, taxation and security. Represented Vattenfall on senior government committees.

P&L responsibility for the development and construction activity in the UK market for a major offshore and onshore wind project portfolio. Led the contracting and delivery of the 300MW Thanet and the 150MW Ormonde offshore projects with a combined capital expenditure in excess of £1 billion. Also led negotiations with the UK Government to secure improved subsidy terms for the Thanet project (increasing NPV by over £300m).Led negotiations with Iberdrola and The Crown Estate for the JV and Leaseholder agreements for 7,200MW East Anglia Round 3 project, securing the rights to develop 6,000km2 of seabed (an area 10% larger than Norfolk). Programme Managed a portfolio of approximately 15 onshore and offshore projects through their consenting and construction activities - capital value approx £500m.Managed the integration of the Nuon UK wind team into the Vattenfall UK operation. Also accountable for the Health & Safety performance of the UK business across its construction and operational activities, which employed around 3,000 people including contractors.
