About David Hollinger
PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University Biomechanical Engineering (AUBE) Laboratory | AUBE Lab | http://www.eng.auburn.edu/sites/aubelab/index.htmlThe overall focus of my research is to integrate human biomechanics and physiology with wearable devices to power humans to reduce musculoskeletal injury, improve performance, and enhance quality of life.To better understand the neuromusculoskeletal system, my research experience covers multiple disciplines and explores challenges in biomechanics from many lenses. This includes working with a variety of patient populations, such as athletes, stroke patients, injured populations, and the general population to identify common threads that hinder biomechanical performance. I have collaborated with a number of research disciplines to gain a better perspective on biomechanics and expand my research repertoire, ranging from the College of Osteopathic Medicine, Engineers, Certified Strength and Conditioning Coaches, neuroscientists, physical therapists, and roboticists. These collaborations have expanded my worldview as a biomechanist and I hope to continue to grow my research capacity to solve challenging problems facing the biomechanics community.
