I spent my entire childhood putting on a good show. From reenacting movies in the basement with my sister, competitions in martial arts, performing with my eldest Sister's Dance troupe, to halftime shows in my high school marching band, etc. I was always good at making people laugh. During school, that was a minor focus. I was grooming to become a computer science programmer. I soon realized that programming was not my calling. So there I was, a college freshman. Holding that Theatre degree change request form, it finally dawned on me why I loved entertainment so much. It was the impact. Compelling stories and moments can have a profound impact on people's lives. Every single human is entertained, inspired and moved by some form entertainment. We can all remember vividly that movie that was just Iconic, or the "You had me at hello" moments that we cherish. I realized that I loved these things because they are such a powerful tool for connecting, uniting, and inspiring people. My goal became simple, to create these compelling moments and stories in the lives of other people. As an educator, that means I strive to provide students with the kind of amazing influences that I received and infuse my current students with the knowledge and experiences I have had using the energy and passion of the little boy I was.As an artist, it means staying dedicated to improving my own skills and developing ethical business practices that allow me to freely create compelling stories for the world to benefit from.Using my skills in:ACTING | CREATIVE WRITING | PUBLIC SPEAKING | TEACHING/MENTORING | SOCIAL MEDIA| TEAM MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP | CUSTOMER SERVICE | STUDENT ADVOCACY | DIVERSITY ADVOCACYI plan on developing GeekSide into an entertainment studio that produces blogs, web comics, videos, and games. I also have plans for a unique after-school creative arts program that introduces youths to the multifaceted and interdisciplinary entertainment industry.
