Compliance Engineer, seconded to BP, for the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), a carbon capture and storage project, ensuring all aspects of regulatory compliance are covered.Main tasks include: Implementation of the project compliance management system (CMS) to ensure safe, compliant and reliable project execution.Develop and submit permit consent applications on behalf of the company.Provide assurance on third-party developed consent applications prior to submission.Provide assurance on EPCI contractor permitting and consenting activities.Utilise the NEP offshore PLANC (permits, licenses, authorisations and consents) register to track and record evidence.Provide assurance on EPCI contractor compliance.Support company and EPC contractor interface with regulators.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinating and supporting regulatory activities to ensure compliance across the North Sea - West of Shetland BP businessSupporting the preparation and execution of regulatory submissions or variations to existing consents where required e.g. NSTA pipeline consents and OPRED environmental applications.Ensuring suitable reporting to project management, clients, and stakeholders.Reviewing project regulatory requirements and informing projects of regulations that have an impact in each project phase, supporting to clarify where necessary.Establishing and maintaining a permitting register.Provide regular updates to the project PLANC management system.Liaison between the Operator and the regulatory bodies.Quality assurance reviews of Company and 3rd party consent applications, where required.Managing the safekeeping of regulatory records.Key Consents & Approval SkillsStrong skill sets in the management of UK legislative consents and permits including the preparation of PWAVs, Deposit Consents, Marine Licences, Chemical Permits, EEMs and DPN (Disused Pipeline Notifications).A demonstrative working relationship with NSTA, DESNZ, HSE, UKHO, and Marine Scotland case officers/managers for the consent & Approvals applications.A full understanding of the North Sea consent application timescales and highly adept at prioritisation, scheduling and planning of consent and approval activities.Able to take consent timescales and work with these on wider strategic plans, vessel schedules and project engineering.Supported over 120 successful applications to NSTA and OPRED. These have included a PWA, CAT 2 PWAV applications, and Deposit Consent. HUOO applications. Support to EAJ, Consent to Locate, Schedule 3 Notifications, Marine Licence, Chemical and Oil Discharge Permits.
