I have been working in the IT industry for over twenty years working in a number of different areas – moving from an application support help desk, to building software and configuration releases, before managing major software and project deliveries. As a result I have developed an in-depth understanding of the software delivery cycle from a number of different viewpoints, and the unique problems each faces. I have learnt the importance of communication and clarity, and the need to have clearly defined repeatable processes in place to reduce error and risk. As a result I have increasingly been called upon to analyse and document elements of the release process to help develop successful software delivery. More recently I have expanded into the wider area of managing releases in the environments space.
