I am an experienced professional in the construction industry with 20 years in Lifting Operations.To date, I have worked on a number of important and iconic projects including Westfield Shopping Centre-WhiteCity, Sky Studios in Brentford, Canary Wharf BP4, The Nova Building-Victoria, Westfield Shopping Centre Extension-WhiteCity. I originally grew up in a village in North Norfolk and got into construction at the age of 19. My father worked his way up from a car mechanic to the head of the Heavy Plant Mechanics department at The National Construction College CITB. I got into the lifting side of the industry with what was HTC, who through the years is now known as Wolffkran Ltd. I started in the construction industry as an operator and slinger/signaller with HTC at the age of 19 and worked my way to be Lift Supervisor and Appointed Person on a number of different projects. Within this time I have successfully carried out roles within the Management of Lifting Operations including;- Having overall responsibility for lifting operations as well as providing expert advise on the subjects within the Lifting Operations profile. - Being able to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as on my own to ensure all activities that are critical to the project are planned, managed and executed within the programme. - Implementing HSE policies, company standards and industry best practises and translating them into a safe system of work for a variety of tasks. - Liasing between PC and 3rd party sub-contractors to maintain the high standards that the project expects while offering knowledge and advise.- SMSTS qualified. - Site First Aid trained.Currently I am a Group Appointed Person for Keltbray Lifting Services and now undertake the role of planning and designing Basic, Standard and Complex Lifting Operations from start to finish which involves planning/designing a method of lifting the many different types of loads safely, calculating and sourcing accessories and cranes and lifting equipment suitable to carry out lift and initiating the hire of these.Within this role I have also passed my Crawler Crane and Tower Crane modules and I the Liebherr Advanced Appointed Person qualification.
