David Hutchison is the Founder and Managing Director at Hutchison Ventures, LLC. He has been retained on a full time basis as a Senior Advisor to Spears & Associates since his retirement from NOV in early 2016.Hutchison Ventures (as well as his work with Spears & Associates) both seek to build upon David's 40 year career in the oil and gas industry by providing expertise for market research/analysis, consulting and due diligence engagements in the oilfield service, supply and manufacturing sector. David began his career in the oil and gas industry roughnecking in the Oklahoma oilfields. The majority of his career has been spent in the drilling and wellbore construction side of the business in various sales and management roles. He has lived for over fourteen years in various international locations including West Africa, Middle East and Russia and continues to bring an international focus to his role at Hutchison Ventures and Spears.David holds a BS in Business from Oklahoma State University and a MBA Management degree from Strathclyde Graduate Business School in Scotland. He is active in several industry associations including SPE, AADE, and IADD and completed the NOV – Purdue Executive Leadership Program in 2011. David and his wife Susan reside in San Marcos, Texas. Their daughter, Bailey, graduated from the University of Houston in 2015 and lives in the NYC area.
