Sen Sppe Genx Global SupportGe Aviation (Caledonian) Jan 1980 - Mar 2013Ge Caledonian PrestwickMy experience with Caledonian spans 32 years, in various management roles, from its green field start up in 1980 as Caledonian Airmotive, through multiple owners to its current GE ownership. 1980 - 1988 (8years) as Engineering manager I built up the powerplant engineering department, setting up the facility FPI / NDT process, and introducing GE CF6, then P&W JT8, and then CFM56 engine lines. 1988 - 1989 ( 2years) as Repair Manager in control of 160 employees in 4 production sections, 1)Repair planning and inspection, 2) Process shops (cleaning, NDT, Plating shop), 3) Welding and heat treatment, 4) Machine shop.1989 - 1992 (2.5years) Production Control & External Vendor Manager, responsible for planning .1992 (1year) Joined Chromalloy in San Diego as Engineering Manager responsible for a small team of engineers and all site engineering activities, including component repair & equipment procurement.1993 - 2003 (10 years) Returned to Caledonian as Engineering & Quality Manager, later promoted to Chief Engineer and Product Safety Leader for the Prestwick site. 2001 (6month secondment) Worked as engineering focal on a bubble project in GE Varig in Rio Brazil reorganising their engine repair facility to improve turn round time and flow efficiency.2003 - 2013 Selected to lead and develop the new Strategic Powerplant Engineering team reporting to HQ global services engineering but based at Prestwick.2002/3 (duel role) Worked as engineering lead with the team selecting and introducing a new fully integrated IT solution for the Prestwick site, later to be rolled out to all other GE MRO sites.March 2013 accepted early retirement package. -
