David Imhof is the director and leader of the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) Office of Investigation and Conduct (OIC). OIC is the law enforcement branch of the TDOC responsible for internal affairs and criminal investigations. OIC consists of the Investigations Unit responsible for criminal and internal affairs investigations, Apprehension and Enforcement Unit responsible for apprehending absconders and offenders who have violated the terms and conditions of their release, and the Security Threat Group responsible for assessing and disseminating intelligence pertaining to security threat groups throughout the TDOC and to external criminal agencies. Imhof is a retired Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) Police Officer with over twenty-nine years of serving the Nashville community. He worked in a variety of roles with MNPD including Captain in the Field Supervisor Unit, Captain over the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Commander over the East Precinct, and his last assignment was Inspector over Alternative Policing Strategies (APS). While over APS, Imhof researched, developed, and collaborated with the private and public partners to create the Partners in Care Program which paired licensed therapists with crisis intervention trained officers to respond to those suffering from behavior health issues. Imhof also created and implemented the Gun Retrieval Program, worked with city officials in developing and launching a Juvenile Diversion Program, and the Group Violence Intervention Program. Imhof holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Hanover College and Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Trevecca University
