Following retirement I remain highly motivated experienced problem solver following 40 plus years in Agriculture as an adviser and experienced arable agronomist. Latterly I managed a team of 12 people with a large budget. I now work part time as an Independent Person for Standards, Remuneration and Audit & Governance with eight local authorities in Essex, Suffolk and South Yorkshire. Working with large teams of both volunteers and professionals, requires tact and diplomacy, especially while handling sensitive situations. I try to establish respect however believe it is earned and not commanded. I have highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills while assimilating information from different sources. This allows me to arrive at balanced judgments under pressure while remaining emotionally balanced. I have many years experience working collaboratively in a team environment.One of the important thing I have learnt over the years is the difference between taking one's work seriously and one's self seriously. The first is an imperative and the second can be disastrous.
