David Ivory is a Grammy Award-nominated multi-Platinum recording engineer, producer, studio owner, and music business entrepreneur. His credits include The Roots-Do you want more??-Illadelph Halflife-Things Fall Apart, Erykah Badu's Baduizm, and Kindred the Family Soul's -Rhythm of Life among many others. His other major R&B/soul collaborations include Patti LaBelle's Gems and several albums from soul legends Bunny Sigler and John Ellison (writer of “Some Kind of Wonderful”). In the world of rock music, David produced Philadelphia’s own rock band Silvertide (J records). He arranged, produced, and even co-wrote a song for their first release entitled American Excess. Ivory also discovered and developed Pennsylvania native rockers and Grammy-winning Halestorm. His work with them resulted in the band signing to Atlantic in 2006. He has been a member of the Philadelphia chapter of The Recording Academy (GRAMMY’s) for over 25 years and recently served as a national trustee (2 terms) for the organization after serving as the Philadelphia chapter’s president. Currently, Ivory, as well as producing is The Director of Sound Recording and Music Technology /Mass Media Studies and Production program at Montgomery Country Community College. He oversees the program as well as teaching production in their new two-million-dollar SSL Dolby Atmos mix room of which he helped to design.
