Senior Operations Manager for the Bega managed Reckitt Benckiser operations in Australia.Directing the implementation and execution of RB's operational activities across the Tatura MSD2 spray dryer, and the Derrimut dry blending and finishing plant including the associated 3PL managed distribution centre.Leading a talented and committed team, we are building an export oriented and globally competitive highly specialised premium infant nutritional manufacturing operation.

Working with the team at Tatura to develop a total management system capability providing detailed analysis and interpretation of performance trends. Coaching and mentoring a continuous improvement approach utilising Lean manufacturing practices and focusing operations activities with commercial outcomes.

Manufacturing Excellence consultancy, I have recently been working with a major Australian packaging manufacturer completing the systems documentation at two plants and assisting with procedural changes in readiness for HACCP accreditation.Working closely with a medium sized restaurant/catering business I have built a financial operating model of the business at detailed level, and used that to develop a change process to engage management and staff with essential efficiency improvements. Following on, I have designed and constructed a properly engineered menu that maximises profitability whilst balancing the capability of the physical premises.

Kyabram

Led a group of 50 people manufacturing three piece steel food cans and servicing blue chip clients in the Goulburn Valley and beyond.Built a lean culture through people development, with a common objective of being regionally competitive through manufacturing and supply chain efficiency.Maintained ISO 9001 and AS 4801 certification, and initiated and led the site to ISO 22000 certification, a first for a food can plant in Australia.Successfully restructured the plant following the closure (off-shoring) of a major customer and achieved a significant turnaround in safety culture leading to 5 years LTI free performance.

Oberon

Responsible for the domestic and export logistics activities of a large MDF plant.Raw material procurement and transport planning, ERP maintenance including all BOM's and routings, Master Scheduling and internal sales (DRP). This role also included maintenance of Oliver Wight Class A Certification, management of 13,000 m2 of warehousing and a significant 3PL contract including transport, external warehousing and export consolidation.

Oberon Mouldings

Leading one of the largest and most highly automated MDF mouldings production facilities, including continuous improvement through major employee skills restructuring and significant greenfields capital works including designing and constructing an automated packaging line.Initiated and implemented business excellence systems leading to successful Oliver Wight Class A certification. Led the technical development of a major project which re-launched the brand and significantly changed it's product life trajectory.Achieved 3 years LTI free as at mid 2007.
