About David Jennings
Ex B&O, ex BOTW, ex UoM, ex UoY,Following decades in audio installation, various retail roles and latterly as a B&O franchisee, I 'sold up and moved on' in 2010, mortgage-free and ready for new challenges.I worked as the Finance Manager at Inner City Music Ltd- a not for profit charity that runs music related outreach and education activities and owns and operates the legendary Band on the Wall music venue in Manchester. In 2012 - in part because the fees were about to triple - I did what I probably should have done in 1984 and started at The University of Manchester as a (very) mature student, studying Archaeology. This went far better than anyone expected, and I graduated with a First Class honours degree in Archaeology, winning the 2014 Robina McNeil award for Outstanding Dissertation for good measure.I continued to roll the dice successfully, and was awarded a HEFCE scholarship to stay at Manchester where I successfully completed a Masters in Archaeology in 2014/5. The mid-life crisis continued into phase 3, with AFHEA status achieved in 2018 whilst teaching seminars part time at the University of York alongside PGR research.Often to be found in fields, libraries, venues, pubs & traffic.Living the dream...
