Schemes can vary in cost from early thousands through to multi million pound projects.• Ensuring the design of Carriageway improvement schemes are completed within the time constraints outlined under the company policy and in accordance with The Construction, Design Management regulations 2015.• Setting key targets and deadlines that are realistic and in line with the surrounding business ensuring that the teams tasks do not impact negatively.• Ensuring the Design Team manager is up to date on all tasks and targets, providing detailed information on our progress, issues and achievements. • Key contributor to the development and improvement of the Quality Management System, including the creation of the QMS Lite process; allowing smaller type reactive works to be completed under a simple design interface within “short time” design constraints.• Provide a safer workplace through the creation of Work place risk assessments and method statements whilst providing verbal guidance throughout their implementation. • Carry out the role of Emergency Duty Officer – Project Managing works deemed to be an emergency outside of the standard working hours. This includes liaising with the emergency services, members of the public and utility companies to resolve complex and sometimes sensitive issues.     The design, delivery, Supervision and management of the East Sussex Highways carriageway resurfacing programme, including:• The validation of information provided by the client. • The detailed design of schemes in accordance with CDM2015 and the Highways Asset Management plan.• The investigation of solutions, products and processes, their initial outlay and their whole life costs. • The creation of Construction phase plans using current management tools (Barium) • The supervision of onsite Highway improvement works. • The implementation of road closures including the design of complex diversion plans and sign schedules in accordance with the Chapter 8 specification. During my time in this role I completed sufficient training to allow in house completion of the road closures thus reducing the lead in time for schemes and time resource for our Network Management team. • It was during this role that I managed two large projects to deliver the first urban carriageway structural recycling schemes in East Sussex. Utilising the method of recycling the existing sub-structure. Both schemes were completed within the advertised deadlines and within the 1.2-million-pound budget despite being located on the extremely busy ring road around the town of Hastings. I also managed a large multi-million pound project funded by the Department for Transport to deliver a programme of carriageway improvement schemes. The project was delivered utilising a walk and build process under extremely tight deadlines. In total 45 schemes were successfully designed and delivered within a time frame of just five months. Praise was received from residents, The Director of communities, Transport and environment and local councillors for the success of the project and its delivery.

A dashboard was created outlining the Teams workflow, success stories, key performance indicators and output. This dashboard was utilised during the Highway operation Managers Meeting to notify internal staff of the team’s issues and success stories.• Assist with Highway maintenance claims through the use of clear communication and excellent record keeping. • This role required the management of two Senior Technicians, their workflow and productivity as well as their Health, safety and welfare at work.
