Over 25 years experience working with data and statistical data analysis. My background is in theoretical and experimental astrophysics and cosmology. I have worked at top academic institutions, government labs and NASA before joining ThoughtWorks as their founding data scientist.I work as a consultant and my teams help businesses apply cutting edge analytics to solve real world problems. To me, solving problems means delivering complete software solutions all the way from inception to production. I am an extreme generalist. To me, data science includes everything in the realm of mathematics, computer science, artificial intelligence, software technologies as well as soft skill such as delivery methodology, business model evolution and change management. Beyond my work with clients, I like to write and speak about technology especially the developing fields of data science and artificial intelligence.Author of python libraries trendfilter (time series library) and brunodb (database). Co-author and workshop facilitator of CD4ML (The ideas expressed in my writing are my own and don't necessarily represent those of anyone I am associated with)
