About David Johnston

After two years of an apprenticeship period at Thales Communications and Security where I discovered the fascinating world of IT Security, I never left it. I then worked as system engineer and integrator in international contexts, that allowed me to strengthen multiples competencies. I developed the ability to design security architectures and to choose the right security products among free open source and proprietary solutions to build the most fitted solution for my clients needs.Then, I worked for the French Government as an IT Security Engineer with a various, but strong, expertise in several aspects of IT Security like Security Architecture Design, Network Security, Computer Security and Log Management. My work was similar to consultancy for the benefit of highly important companies and administrations.After almost 5 years in the French National Cybersecurity Agency, I decided to established myself in the area of Berlin. I am now there Chief Information Security Officer for the Klinikgruppe Ernst von Bergmann.A quote that I like: "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers." said Thomas Watson, president of IBM, in 1943.This quote clearly shows that it is really hard to know how the world of IT will be tomorrow, that’s why, to my opinion, curiosity, learning and training are an absolute necessity to stay on course!Key competencies: Security Architecture Design, Network Security, Computer Security, Information Security, IT Security, Log Management, Security-Architekturen, Informationssicherheit, Protokollierungssystems.
