I currently pursue a portfolio of interests, including Operating Partner and Investment Committee member at Asterion Industrial Partners, External Advisory Board Member at Shell Renewables & Energy Solutions and Non-Executive Director at vertical farming company Fischer Farms.From 2004 to 2017 I led the creation and growth of Allianz’s proprietary renewable energy investment platform. As CEO of Allianz Specialised Investments and MD at Allianz Capital Partners, I built the platform from a standing start into a leading financial investor in the sector, with over €4bn invested in wind and solar assets across Europe and the US by 2017. From 2001 I led Shell's wind energy business, transforming it from experimental scale to the No. 7 global player by the time of my departure in 2004.Prior to that, I held senior business development positions at El Paso, Sithe Energies and National Power including, at the latter, Commercial Manager and General Manager of the Tejo Energia JV in Portugal. My long term background is the power sector, having undertaken project development and business planning work for coal, oil and gas-fired projects in the UK for National Power and the CEGB. I am a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.
