About David Juncos, Psy.D.

Hi, I'm Dave Juncos, a 2014 graduate of La Salle's PsyD in Clinical Psychology program. I conduct research on the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for music performance anxiety (MPA). It's a true passion of mine working with musicians either in individual therapy or through consultation with music colleges.     Major Rotation: Worked 3.5 days/week in a busy outpatient community mental health center. Maintained an active caseload of 30-35 adult clients, providing evidence-based and solution-focused individual therapy. Aspenpointe is the largest community mental health organization in Colorado Springs and receives funding primarily through Medicaid. Clients are severely and persistently mentally ill and are diagnosed with a variety of Axis I and Axis II disorders. Minor Rotation #1: Co-facilitated IOP groups for adults with substance abuse disorders in the Adult Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) program for one year. ASAP follows the Matrix Model for Recovery but supervisors were also proficient in Psychodrama and Experiential group therapy. Received individual and group supervision weekly. Minor Rotation #2: Provided psychological testing for adult clients in the outpatient clinic for a variety of reasons. Tests administered included: WAIS-IV, WMS-III, PAI, MMPI-2RF, MCMI-III, RBANS, TOVA, MoCA, BROWN ADD Scales. Minor Rotation #3: Provided adult outpatient clients with Heart Math biofeedback treatment.
