About David Jørgensen
My passion is to dig into people’s problems and use modern technology to solve them.I always thought my dream was to become a lecturer of German history, scouring ancient tomes in search of ‘wie es eigentlich gewesen ist’ and sharing my latest findings with a select few. After studies at German universities I concluded my MA in German and history. I then took up lecturing positions at universities both in Germany and Denmark. But I was missing something. I needed to make a real change for people.Learning technology became the game changer. At the German Federal Foreign Office, I was working as a teacher. With a group of employees, we were digging into language and politics. First we used a pronunciation trainer programme to train oral proficiency and later we used a podcast to work through issues on society and culture. Everyone in the group made huge steps individually, when we utilized modern technology in the training. I realized then that my true passion is, to use modern technology to help people achieve their goals.Ever since, I just can’t get enough. Working with modern technology in training settings calls to all my passions: I need problem solving to understand the matter at hand, and creativity to find the best solution. On top of that, I regularly get to experience people being in the zone.My specialities include quickly seeing the core of the problem and learning new skills and technologies. I’ve been using blended learning formats including flipped learning as a teacher and teacher trainer. On the tech side I have a number of LMSs (Google Apps for Education, Blackboard, It’s Learning, Moodle) under my belt and I’m also experienced in video scripting, shooting, editing and post production. For the latter I’ve been using the Adobe suite for years, especially Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and Animate.I enjoy meeting new people and hearing fresh perspectives.
