I have over 20 years of teaching and education experience in various math fields including elementary, middle, secondary, and post-secondary courses. My strengths include relating abstract mathematical concepts to a student’s personal experience as well as facilitating a strong connection to understanding mathematical concepts rather than just memorizing facts. My love is in math theory and deductive reasoning to help students understand how math concepts build on top of each other. I enjoy sharing this love with other educators to find a way, as a strong team, to build and properly teach an effective curriculum to all students in order to ensure students are moving forward in a unified manner. My projects have included aligning, selecting, and implementing appropriate curriculum, creating and analyzing assessments, and designing engaging activities in math, social studies, and science individually and with a team. After a challenging opportunity to work during a virtual and hybrid teaching environment during the COVID pandemic and adapting to a post-COVID learning environment, I am now looking to take that experience and apply it positions outside of teaching in the classroom.
