Consultant Radiation Oncologist
CurrentDr. David K Simson is a trained radiation oncologist specializing in advanced radiation techniques, including intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) / Rapid Arc, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT), and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). He is also experienced in interstitial, intracavitary, and intraluminal brachytherapy.Dr. Simson graduated from AIMS, Thrissur, and joined Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute in 2012 for his post-graduate training in radiation oncology. Following his training, he gained valuable experience working in various cancer hospitals in Delhi, including Action Cancer Hospital. Before rejoining his alma mater, he served as a consultant radiation oncologist at Fortis Hospital. In 2017, Dr. Simson successfully cleared the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) exam. He has a keen interest in teaching and research and is deeply involved in the institute's postgraduate program. Dr. Simson has numerous publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals.Dr. Simson is a member of various professional organisations, including the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI), and the Delhi Oncology Forum.Currently, Dr. Simson is a consultant in Gastrointestinal, Hepatopancreatobiliary, Genitourinary, and Total-Body Radiation Oncology Services at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre. His expertise includes using Tomotherapy for total-body irradiation (TBI) and the Cyberknife system for SBRT, SRT, and SRS.
