David Kahn is principal of SUN Studio, a landscape, architecture, and planning firm, specializing in sustainable urban neighborhood design. Their work fuses ecological land planning, innovative landscape and architectural design, and state of the art green building practices.Projects range in scale from gardens, parks, and institutional and commercial landscapes, to residential and mixed-use architecture, to net-zero energy community master plans. The work intertwines environments with ecology, storm water, agriculture, structural and material beauty, and comfort. At the core is a commitment to empower people to experience and be stewards of their environment. David Kahn is on the faculty of the University of Colorado Boulder Environmental Design Program. Since 1992 he has been teaching undergraduate and graduate level seminars and design studios focusing on an interdisciplinary approach to architecture, landscape, and planning.He has lectured in Europe, Latin America, and at many national and regional conferences in the United States.
