Embedded software was maintained in FLASH via the JFFS2 journalling file system and XML for configuration parameters.Sep. 1996 to Present Firmware Lead, ADC Telecommunications (formerly PairGain Technologies Inc.), Firmware Dept., Tustin, CA (4 years experience) Key firmware lead on DSL modem products (PAM and 2B1Q based technologies) that deliver TDM-based T1, E1 and data (V.35, X.21 and etc.) services. Responsible for all firmware partitions from low-level interrupts, drivers, APIs to upper layer applications. Areas of emphasis include RTOS, chipset drivers, database design (supporting performance statistics and configuration), data-link, GUI and etc. Direct experience applying Z180, 8051, C166 and 68302 micro-controllers utilizing paged memory and a pre-emptive RTOS (uC-OS and PSOS) to satisfy hard real-time requirements. Designed software to support HDLC controllers, DSP transceivers, UARTs and serial framers. Designed features including PRA-ISDN, firmware download, VT100 terminal server, channel multiplexing/de-multiplexing, serial host management, TL-1 commands, self-test/burn-in and others.Firmware Manager (1 year experience)Responsible for leading a team of 10 firmware engineers.
