Operating from 20 branches across the country, the national carrier provides unrivalled expertise in the safe and cost effective transportation of bulk solids, liquids and dangerous goods transport by road, rail and sea.Responsibilities and Achievements;• Reporting directly to the Managing Director of K & S Corporation.• Directly involved in the M&A Team supporting the successful merger of Scott Corporation into the K&S Corporation. This deal provided significant shareholder value as well as re-capitalising the balance sheet and supporting future expansion and development proposals.• Strategic Commercial Development and business design. • Market Research Project Management to identify key opportunities.• Business Change Management and Organisational design.• Design and development of Compliance Structures.• Governance & Risk Management.• Business Development and Management of Sales and Commercial Programs. With annual revenues exceeding $200m and employing 450 full time employees and up to 250 subcontractors- Scott Corporation is a specialist provider of bulk transport and logistics solutions to the Australian mining, manufacturing, waste, chemical, Petrochemical, construction, oil and agricultural industries.Responsibilities and Achievements;• Responsible for reversing the fortunes of the company• Successfully renegotiated the contracts for unprofitable customers.• Successfully negotiated the litigation contributing $7.2m to the financial results.• Developed a 3 year Strategic Business plan. • Restructured critical roles within the Senior and Mid-Level Management team. • Established a “Charter of Values” to guide the organisation.• Improved business performance visibility• Actively in involved in Key Account Management and New Business acquisition. Key Financial & Performance Achievements;• Reduced work place injuries by 50% over a 10 year period (2004 LTIs 14 to 2014 LTIs 7)• Reduced Workers Compensation from $1.4M to $950K over the same period.• Reduced Motor Vehicle Insurance claims from $600K to less than $350K.• Improved EBITDA from $9.5m to $22.8m during tenure as CEO.• Yield on Sales increased from 0.2% to 2.7%.• Sales grew by 68% over a 10 year period from $118m p.a. to $199m p.a.• Improved Profitability Forecasting accuracy.• Improved shareholder value (EPS) from 0.5c per share to 5.9c per share from 2004 to 2013.• The net tangible asset position more than doubled over this period allowing a dividend payment to be made to shareholders in 2007 after a 5 year gap.• Led the bid team in the successful renewal of the BHP Illawarra Coal Transportation Contract for an additional 6 years.• Proposed and secured $20m Capital Funding (approved by the National Transport Regulator) to invest in innovative equipment to drive efficiencies and reduce costs.

Compass Car & Trucks, a family owned business, operated from 3 sites in Illawarra and 1 in Canberra, supplying after-market products and services to the passenger, light commercial and heavy commercial vehicle market. I reported to the Marketing Manager for the Australian market. A key objective of the project appointment was to complete a product comparison study of the heavy truck manufacturers participating in the Australian market.During my employment with Volvo Truck Corporation I spent time in operations through out Great Britain, Holland, Belgium and Sweden.Upon my return to Australia at the completion of the trainee project I was part of a team that delivered a presentation pack on the product comparison study and acpractical vehicle demonstration to the Australian Volvo national sales network.
