Communications Analyst (Network Engineer)
Current-Operate and maintain the following equipment to support the enterprise network-Cisco Switches-Cisco Routers-Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs)-Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)-Cisco Access Control Server (ACS)-Cisco Prime appliances.-Perform wireless surveys and design Wireless Access Point (WAP) placement plans.-Provide wireless support for more than 10,000 end users.-Configure, install, and maintain routers and switches for large scale LAN/WAN environment.-Cisco 2800 and 2900 series routers.-Cisco 2900, 3700, 3800, 4500, 6500, 6880 and 7600 series switches.-Cisco Nexus 5K and 9K switches.-Develop plans based on projected growth and operation.-Develop design plans for new communication rooms when new locations are being built.-Work with department project managers to ensure they get what they want when opening a new site or requesting a new network design.-Create AutoCAD and Visio network drawings and flowcharts for knowledgebase documentation.-Measure network resource availability, performance, and capacity.-Create and run numerous test environments to evaluate a configuration before implementing it into the production network.-Recommend network enhancements to improve efficiency.-Test and evaluate products for future business needs.-Troubleshoot system failures, performance deficiencies and circuit/wiring issues. -Use of multiple types of network monitoring software to guarantee network operation and performance.-Build, upgrade, configure, and install network switches and routers.-Constant enhancement of network operation and improvement of network performance.-Patch in users and verify operation of client workstations.-Monitoring the network for issues and troubleshooting when they arise.-Comm room design, maintenance, and cleanup.
