This is a large category I'll admit but it seems like the only way to cover a few thousand shows. This includes things like a lot of small club gigs and a number of festivals. Stage Co-ordinator for the Vancouver Folk Music Festival one year and Workshop Stage Mixer for about 6, was the Mixer for the Performance Centre at the Vancouver Jazz Festival (the experimental and free jazz venue) for about 7 years, a bunch of dance performances that usually used everything, I've done FOH for a few musical theatre runs - Tommy/Oliver, Doing monitors and stage work I've worked on shows including Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, The Rankins, Broken Social Scene, etc.. August 2012 I was a Production Manager for the Rockin River Music Festival in Mission B.C. which featured Dwight Yokum, George Canyon, Blue Rodeo and 20 or so other acts. Did a lot of monitors for this one as well.

Whiteline operated a 24+ track audio recording mobile in a 30 ft bus chassis. Contracts were primarily audio recording and live mixing of large musical shows for television broadcast and CD release. Clients included CBC, CTV, Much Music, Global, Nettwork Records, Leonard Cohen Stranger Music (CD), Vans Warped Tour (DVD), etc. and included artists such as The Tragically Hip, Sarah McLaughlin, Leonard Cohen, Colin James, Spinal Tap, The Vancouver Symphony,

Worked on the interconnect system design for all production audio, video, intercom and telcom for the Northern and Southern Jubilee Auditoriums rebuild in Edmonton and Calgary. The audio and video aspects were a 40 million dollar component of the total project.

Miami

Audio One is one the major ProTools dealers in the U.S. serving the professional production industry in Miami. A major activity for the company was the provision of complete interconnect and patch systems for recording studios. While working for Audio One I managed the complete rewire of producer Desmond Child's Gentlemen's Club studio in South Beach, put together ProTools rack systems for Aerosmith to take on tour, and a variety of hardware and software troubleshooting experiences on ProTools systems and control surfaces.

In this position I was responsible for the maintenance of a multi-room facility providing audio post-production services for feature film and television industries. Equipment experience has included Neve and Studer Consoles, Studer and Ampex analog multi-track and stereo recorders, Tascam DA-88 MDM’s , Fostex and Sony DAT formats, Pro-Tools and Studer Dyaxis disk based systems, SoundMaster and Audio Kinetics syncronizers, Film dubbers, etc.. Since leaving full time employment with Pinewood I have been called back to commission their new 5.1 mixing theatre, based around three Sony DMX100 digital consoles, in the Lions Gate Studio facilities.

This is a private post secondary institution focused mainly on the music industry. Teaching in the Recording and Production stream I presented a variety of courses over the 17 years. My longest single course was the electronics and studio maintenance which I presented at the Vancouver campus over a 10 year period. The basic objective was to get the students to a decent understanding of complex AC signal parameters represented by Impedance with an introduction to semiconductors.

Banff

Created and administered the professional development program in audio recording within the newly established Media Arts department . Designed and managed installation of the new Media Arts facilities in the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Media Centre. The professional development program in audio recording which I created featured a balance of assigned professional production projects, personal research and projects, and master classes on various subjects presented by some top professionals in their fields. This included Floyd Toole (Harmon), David Griesinger (Lexicon), George Massenberg (GML). Regarding the facility itself, I worked on the redesign of the floor plan, did the complete systems and electrical design for a facility which spanned three floors, purchased all materials, and project managed the installation using a combination of technical services and associates. Since the activities of Media Arts were not standard the systems design required an extremely flexible approach which could bring major interconnect possibilities throughout the facility. To achieve this I designed and had manufactured a custom 8 channel modular punchdown to multipin connector system

Maintenance and Operation of Commercial Electronics 24 Track Mobile on a number of contracts which included the live to air international broadcast of the Opening Gala of Expo 86 (CBC - Sheena Easton, Kenny Rogers, Brian Adams, Loverboy), Our Time To Shine (CTV - David Foster The Vancouver Symphony), "Whale Song" - joint NFB/CBC/Rhombus Media production - (Vancouver Symphony and Vancouver Bach Choir at Vancouver Aquarium). Whale Song was winner of a Juno for best location audio. Christmas Pantomime with Karen Kane, etc..

An artist run contemporary arts performance and production centre which had music, dance, performance art, gallery installation, writers reading, and other programs which had a large international component. A feature activity was the video art production residencies. Worked on performances and productions with a wide range of artists such as Alvin Lucier, David Rosenboom, Rober Racine, Laurie Anderson, William S Burroughs, Kate Craig, Anthony Braxton, Margaret Atwood, Don Buchla, etc.,etc.,etc. Actually worked here in two different time slots 1976 - 78, and 1982-85 (when I constructed and installed the first actual control rooms for audio and video post)

Ottawa, Canada Area

Assistant to Senior Researcher Dr. Floyd Toole. Ran Subjective Measurement Experiments on loudspeakers, developed a database and statistical analysis program (Fortran) for evaluation of experimental results, performed measurments in anechoic chamber and live room. Commissioned the first time delay spectrometry system (B&K) in Canada.
