CurrentPeople often ask me when and how I started in photography as a career, and ended up as a portrait photographer. Well the when is, I've always been fascinated by photography. The earliest inspirations that I can remember are stunning sunsets over Horn Head, Nth Donegal, as a kid, buying an issue of Vietnam in the 80's dedicated to Eddie Adams that blew me away, I still have it to this day, and from my days working on the Technology Section of Business & Finance Magazine, I remember getting my hands on one of the first fully automatic and motorised Canon's and spending hours and hours around Stephen's Green capturing anything and everything and being stunned at how beautiful and expressive droplets of water emerging from a fountain can be when viewed at one thousandth of a second... The minutiae of our everyday world captured. Wonderful. And the how, well when I started to listen to my heart in 2001, photography found me.
