CurrentLed the content creation and management system, and delivery groups at UpToDate through two major growth-inflection points, enabling the company to grow from 30 to over 400 million in annual revenue. Led the effort to design, create, and implement new editorial systems and processes that enabled the company to scale up the content quality and quantity efficiently, with only incremental additional head count. Built out a development, QA, and support team for our content creation/management/publishing systems.Separated the publishing of content from the publishing of software so that each could occur independently. Increased the frequency of content publishing from three times per year to once per day, with real-time updates occurring automatically throughout the day as needed. Accomplished this without missing a single publication deadline. Worked closely with product teams to ensure that all software products would be ready and able to accept content updates whenever they were published, including the mobile and desktop products that have locally installed content.Designed and drove to successful completion projects to allow for the creation of new kinds of content and the management of translations of existing content. Used existing systems where possible, added or extended capabilities as needed. New content type is integrated into existing workflows and publishing system and coded using LOINC and keywords.Created and built a Release Engineering group to implement build automation, automated unit testing, and automated functional testing where appropriate. Increased the transparency and predictability of this key function to allow the business to better plan, monitor and execute product enhancements.
