As a direct result of this we managed to identify potential cost efficiencies in packaging, MHE and people taking the cost of production from £23,000 per unit to £16,000 per unit with a total cost saving of £2.2m per annum. Operations Manger of the sequencing department within Jaguar Landrover. Managing 68 operators across two separate locations ensuring all parts are sequenced and delivered to line in a JIT operation.We operate with 2 Supervisors and 6 group leaders who help to maintain optimum performance across both areas ensuring the safety of all personnel who work and visit the areas.

It is expected that we conduct a thorough and in depth investigation process to establish the correct route cause adding any countermeasures and corrective actions to prevent future line side failures. It is a vital part of the operation the have a good communication basis with both DHL and JLR management teams to build a trust between all parties included. The Auto Call system is the new future for the part delivery process within Jaguar Landrover. Currently i am providing support for the roll out and integration of the new system providing high level management for both DHL and JLR an in-depth report at the end of each shift. The system is ran by other in house identification system for each production vehicle. This provides the information so as the auto call can work out the exact delivery times required. The Auto Call will be taking over from the Iron Man/Button Press call process that is currently in place throughout the plant. Show less

During my time working with Smart Autos I took on many different roles and responsibilities. I started off as a shop floor mechanic fixing all aspects of motor vehicle repair including engine overhauls and restorations. I was promoted to shopfloor team leader after my first year and as well as my own mechanical responsibilities I was also in charge of all new staff including apprentices and work placements.
