After many years of leading a media organization that consisted of a daily newspaper, three weekly newspapers, two TMCs, three websites and a printing operation, I am seeking an opportunity to make a difference with another company.While my long comps speak to consistent year-over-year growth - especially in digital and niche categories - I also measured my success by how me and my teams connected with our communities from the special vantage point of being the mirror and bulletin boards for our readership across all platforms. If we weren't helping businesses of all sizes succeed by using proven advertising methods or raising up important issues on the editorial and opinion pages we were falling short. We didn't fall short for long because I believe in goal setting, measuring, mentoring...and celebrating our successes and recalibrating if we fell short.On the editorial side, I have kept a top-notch team that has led us to eight general excellence awards for daily papers our size in Eastern Washington, Idaho and Utah in the past 10 years in the Associated Press annual contest. No other paper has come close to us. My personal column has also been judged as the best the last four out of five years. Each staff member competes in the contest and most do well.Whether people access our data in print or online, the information has to be relevant and actionable. That is where I come in.
