What sets me apart from other therapists is my ability to quickly build rapport with clients and families. As part of the comprehensive training received, I learned that the connection between a clinician and a client is one of the most important factors in reaching treatment goals. This is not rhetoric, as various peer-reviewed and published research studies have verified a strong connection as essential to meeting the short and long-term objectives any client wishes to reach. During my tenure with Easterseals of Southern California Autism Services, I have been the primary clinical supervisor responsible for 30 children and adults with autism graduating from the program that were provided direct intervention hours as well as parent training services. Throughout this time, I have concurrently managed a case load of up to 15 clients and supervised six clinical behavior interventionists. Experience creating behavioral goals extended from children to their parents as generalizing skills is an important step to ensure success after graduating from the program. As part of my current supervisory role, it is my responsibility to meet with each family at least once per week, facilitate process and social groups, conduct assessments, create treatment plans and formalized 6-month progress reports, develop behavioral programs, as well as administrate monthly clinical team meetings. I work extremely well under deadlines and seek to better myself as a clinician through continuous learning and growth. I have an innate desire to constantly absorb knowledge about new treatment modalities and volunteer to lead associate team meetings, embracing and relishing the role of formally teaching others when an opportunity to do so is present.
