Oversees day to day operations/responsibilities of a diverse group of individuals in the R&D facility. Works with Engineering, Operations and Outside contractors for installation of new equipment. Makes recommendations regarding daily operations and overall operational improvements. Coaches, counsels or disciplines employees as needed. Responsible for the overall safety and training of individuals on a daily basis.

Provided leadership, support and corrective actions in the areas of Batch, Environmental Abatement systems and Specialty glass operations. Monitored railway activity to ensure no gaps in raw material supplies. Worked closely with Furnace engineer to improve efficiency, quality and safety while optimizing performance. Was a liaison between operations, engineering, Maintenance and outside contractors for the implementation of capital projects, daily operations, maintenance or overall improvements. Provided overall leadership in the absence of Production Superintendent.

Responsible for supervising 40 (union) production personnel and scheduling of work to utilize equipment and maintain maximum productivity levels. Ensured the safety, quality, environmental and employee welfare standards were met at all times. Maintained a good working relationship with employees and union stewardship through administration of labor agreement.
