I am a Kenyan Rangeland Ecologist currently working as Director Research and Impact for the Grevy's Zebra Trust in Northern KenyaI am broadly experienced in rangeland science and management, having studied elephant ecology and impact on woody vegetation for my Master's degree from the University of Nairobi, followed by two years practicing rangeland restoration and monitoring across the Ewaso ecosystem in northern Kenya. My Doctoral research focused on developing mobile phone apps for rangeland management, and the use of these apps to evaluate and ultimately predict restoration success. My work and education experience has given me the opportunity to interact regularly and co-author papers and reports with world-leading scientists in my field, as well as oversee diverse and multi-disciplinary teams as I seek to continuously learn and grow.My research and management interests include rangeland restoration, use of existing and emerging technology for natural resource assessment, inventory and monitoring, and the influence of patch-level soil and site characteristics on ecosystem structure and function.
