I am an historian of politics, religion, and social movements. I have written or co-edited multiple books—with the University of Pennsylvania Press (2019), Rutgers University Press (2022) and currently with Oxford University Press (expected in 2024). I have published peer-reviewed articles in leading journals such as the Journal of American Studies (Cambridge), Journal of the American Academy of Religion (Oxford), and Journal of Ecclesiastical History (Cambridge). I have also given public lectures and talks at the University of Oxford, Dartmouth College, University of Cambridge, Emory University, Yale-Edinburgh Consortium, Edinburgh University, Princeton Theological Seminary, Marquette University, among many others. I also enjoy producing research with scholars from around the world—most recently at the Obama Institute for Transnational American Studies in Germany, funded by the German government (UNC Press, 2022), at Dartmouth College funded by the Leslie Center for the Humanities at Dartmouth (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2023), and at Wolfson College at the University of Cambridge.In my research and teaching, I am passionate about identifying and amplifying the wonderful work of my academic colleagues and working to create new avenues for civic engagement and the common good.

Coordinate agendas for senior leadership team meetings and retreats and represent the Office of the President on university committees, in meetings and in the community.
