My current role is that of Senior Clinical Pharmacist responsible for Service Development. This is linked in with and extensive Audit and Education Programme and has brought about many significant improvements to the delivery of our Trust's medicines management. Most recently I have specifically focussed on overhauling our management of the novel atypical antipsychotic, Clozapine. Here we need to manage risk, improve efficiency, safety and cost with a view to increasing the use of this superior therapy. I also took an 18 month secondment (2014-2015) within Mersey Care to review our current CPA (Care Programme Approach) system. Although this had no direct association with Pharmacy, my skills in systems audit, review and analysis was used to great effect and we managed to develop a new system which was far more efficient and effective.2015 - 2018 Staff Representative on Board of Governors

In addition to the statutory audits conducted across NHS organisations by MIAA, they also conduct a range of audit projects at the request of individual NHS Trusts. Due to the diversity of these projects MIAA enlist the help of many experienced professionals as Associates to manage the work. MIAA have established the Cheshire and Merseyside Medicines Optimisation Group which includes many of the leading figures in medicines management across the health and social care sector in the region, to look at collaborating on selected high value projects that will bring about significant cost benefits to the health economy. As the Mental Health Lead on this group, I have been tasked with managing, primarily, their Clozapine project, amongst other work.

I ran tutorial training sessions within the hospital as well as guest lecturing on specific clinical topics to undergraduates.I was employed part-time as a postgraduate tutor from 2003 to 2006.I also ran the Neurology, neurosurgery and Mental Health training module for post-graduate clinical pharmacists from 2004 to 2010.

I was responsible for the clinical pharmacy service provided by The University Hospital Aintree to the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, a regional specialist unit.
