Data Science Teacher'S Assistant
As a teaching assistant for the sophomore level computer science Data Science course I was responsible for grading and providing feedback on weekly assignments on various topics surrounding Data Science. This included theoretical topics like probability, runtime analysis, and unsupervised machine learning as well as applied topics like using Python, NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-Learn to address various questions within Data Science. I held office hours throughout the week for students who needed additional help outside of the class and ensured everyone was able to keep up with the coursework despite being remote.
Solutions Architect Intern
At AWS I had the opportunity to architect and develop a cloud-native scheduled callbacks feature for Amazon Connect contact centers. This feature allowed for customers in busy queues to schedule a time for the contact center to call them back using a chat bot and natural language. Managers could then monitor these callbacks and set callback hours using a custom made, online dashboard. This solution used 11 different AWS services include Amplify, AppSync, DynamoDB, Lambda, Lex, and Pinpoint. For the manager dashboard I used a continuous deployment pipeline to allow for the easy deployment of updates. The front end was built using React.js and real-time data was provided using GraphQL. To schedule the callback, customers interacted with a Lex chat bot that was validating data using a Python Lambda function communicating with DynamoDB tables. In addition to developing this solution I did a full internal demo to other solutions architects and provided detailed documentation so that my solution is replicable on any AWS account.
Student
Studying abroad at Trinity College, Dublin for the Fall 2019 semester
Social Media Data Analytics
At KashKlik I had the opportunity to work on expanding the company's user base by developing a web crawler utilizing the Selenium and Pandas Python libraries. With this crawler I was able to find over 1000 potential influencers to contact directly over email at a pace far faster than any human performing the same task.In addition to writing the code for the crawler I ensured that it would be easily scalable by using Amazon Web Services and Luminati Proxy Manager. All of this was made available through a private GitHub repository I managed throughout my internship to allow partner companies to take advantage of the crawler as well.
Logic And Computation Teacher'S Assistant
As a teaching assistant for the sophomore level computer science course Logic and Computation I was responsible for grading and providing feedback on weekly assignments on topics such as boolean logic, proofs, basic number theory, and finite automata and regular expressions. I also held weekly office hours where students could come in to get conceptual help on the upcoming assignment or go over in depth what was wrong on prior assignments.
Research Assistant
As a research assistant for the statistics team I had the opportunity to work on a number of different projects. I was the lead for replicating a study on statistical word segmentation. This involved collecting and analyzing data from 238 online participants and using a number of different tools and languages including R, JavaScript, Amazon Mechanical Turk, and LaTeX for the write-up. This paper is currently being prepared for review.I also worked on a meta-analysis that explored the impact of working memory on long-term memory recall. I was responsible for collecting crucial statistics from 47 different experiments as well as running and interpreting p-curve and regression analyses using R.Most recently I have been working on finding better ways to model development curves obtained from massive online datasets using Bayesian statistics. All of this work I was responsible for presenting to fellow researchers who may or may not have previous knowledge on the subject.
Institutional Technology Associate
At Palm Valley School I worked for several summers in the IT department solving day-to-day device issues such as connecting printers and fixing network connections. Most significantly, I was responsible for providing the initial implementation of a schoolwide Chromebook network which involved managing 250 student accounts and Chromebooks. Because of my work the school is now able to institute different policies and programs at the individual student, class, grade, and schoolwide level.
