David started an investment firm in 1996 to help clients better manage their wealth and assess risk. Over the years, he has attracted more physicians to his firm, helping them better manage their own risks by developing products such as self-insurance vehicles for malpractice and other risks associated with the practice of medicine. KOMEDIX is an outgrowth of that vision. Himself the son of an ENT physician, David was a Rotary Ambassadorial scholar to Germany, graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University and has had a professional career focused on creative problem solving around market risks. His experience includes being a part of the development team that pioneered the concept of hotels located next to and supporting major medical centers as well as the successful development of hedge fund investment strategies to help clients through turbulent markets.

  David Komet is the CEO of KOMEDIX, a San Antonio based company focused on helping healthcare professionals increase wealth by managing their own risks.David realized that the risk for physicians and other health providers was becoming significantly higher through new developments in Medicare and Medicaid. Komedix began addressing this not only for its own physician clients but also for other health providers as well. The firm offers the Diagnostic Review Process to helping clients ensure they are in compliance should they become subject to what has become known in the industry as a “RAC” audit.
