Dave Koss is leader and a follower with extensive experience in high-reliability organizations. A former Naval Officer, he is masterful at understanding and navigating the complexities of human nature. As a tactical Naval Aviator, he is skilled at making critical, time sensitive decisions in pressurized environments. He is respected as a trustworthy leader who can be relied on to make the tough decisions yet always take the team’s wellbeing into account. A trained planner, he is adept at formulating strategy and ensuring execution.In his most recent military position, Dave was charged with transforming today’s youth into tomorrow’s leaders. As the Commanding Officer and a professor teaching Leadership and Ethics at the University of Texas, he was committed to preparing members of the organization to become not just leaders, but leaders of character. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Dave spent a 30-year career in a variety of positions teaching, learning, and leading. He served in numerous operational strike-fighter squadrons to include TOPGUN and the Navy’s Blue Angels and flew missions in direct support of the War on Terror. As a staff officer, Dave spent time as a joint planner on the Indo-Pacific Command staff and as a team lead in the Navy’s Air Warfare directorate in the Pentagon. Throughout his career he held numerous leadership positions in small to large organizations.An avid outdoorsman, when Dave is not working, he can be found spending time with his wife Julie either golfing or trying to catch a fish.
