I am a Honolulu based business executive with an extensive and diverse background in finance and accounting who is focused on corporate finance, strategy, operations, risk management and corporate governance. I am currently the SVP/Chief Financial Officer of Hawaii Pacific University, the largest private university in the central Pacific. Prior to joining HPU in December of 2018, I was the Chief Financial Officer of ProService Hawaii, one of the nation’s highest performing professional employer organizations (PEO). At ProService, I was instrumental in the success of two key corporate transactions: the acquisition and integration of an in-market competitor (HiHR) and the recapitalization of the company by the private equity firm FFL Partners. FFL’s purchase of ProService was the largest transaction ever in the PEO industry, garnering a record multiple and wide-spread attention. Before ProService, I founded Xpedite LLC, a successful start-up in the business process outsourcing field with operations in Hawaii and the Philippines. This experience allowed me to further develop both my operational skills and leadership qualities. Prior to this position, I was the Vice President of Finance of a publicly traded, diversified holding company that afforded me deep knowledge of both the rate regulated utility and banking industries as well as the company’s large investment portfolio and enterprise risk management program. I worked closely with the Board of Directors and Audit Committee on financial and strategic matters.I am also a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee of Island Insurance, Hawaii’s largest locally owned and managed property and casualty (P&C) insurance company. In addition, I chair the finance committee and am the rising Chair of the Board of Catholic Charities Hawaii.
