Mostly supporting Linux/AIX for SLAs for top automotive manufacturers like VW, Audi, Skoda Auto. Key specialist in their key manufacturing systems like FIS, FSP, RVS, JIT, FAZIT, etc. which directly drive the production line. These are built almost universaly on IBM software like AIX, DB2, WAS, MQ and implementing HA using the PowerHA software to use and configure POWER hardware forvirtualization of the massive and powerful computers into many independent LPARs (i.e. VMs), which requires deep expertise of these technologies as well. I was also frequently coding supporting scripts and binaries and porting entire SW solutions in various languages like shell/Perl/Python and mostly C/C++ (e.g. IDIS) and also implementing new tools, jobs, apps etc, even using compilers like GNU GCC & IBM xlC/C++ and their tools not just to analyze issues, but also to compile my own code, port existing pkgs to big-endian AIX POWER RISCpaltform and building existing RPM/DEB packages from source, often having to patch build scripts or the code itself. Always been the top troubleshooter in the team, for any kind of system/network misbehavior. As a system integrator and analyst, I often utilized gdb, truss, strace, objdump, tcpdump, ldd, ENV manipulation amd similar low-level tools and techniques to evaluate their output and solve the problem. Needless to say, I even had to employ my reverse-engineering skills. Although the biggest projects we handled were full migrations of the existing production systems to new HW and/or different infrastructure, while updating each component to current releases and upgrading DB2 database models used by aforementioned standardized components developed by VW for the entire concern.
