Dr. David Kwok has amassed more than 20 years of experience as an Adult Educator, Researcher, Consultant, and Manager. He is currently Senior Lecturer with the Centre of Educational Development (CED) in Republic Polytechnic (RP). He was Programme Head of the Specialist Diploma in Learning and Teaching (Intake 5, 10 & 13) and Inaugural Part-Time Diploma in Business Practice (Hospitality Management).In CED, Dr. Kwok is Cluster Lead for Educational Research Academic Professional Development (APD) Programmes where he trains, consults and mentors academic staff in conducting educational research. He is instrumental in spearheading the training on action research for the Schools in RP, and serves as Ethics Coordinator for Educational Research in RP. He was Chair of the Scientific Committee for the International Problem-Based Learning Conference in 2015, 2017 and 2020 (cancelled due to Covid-19).Prior to joining RP in 2007, Dr. Kwok has held senior managerial and regional positions in MNCs, SME and Government Linked Company. He had many years of corporate experience working as an in-house trainer as well as a corporate trainer and consultant for diverse organizations, both locally and overseas. He was a Certified Singapore Quality Award (SQA) Assessor from SPRING Singapore, a national standards and accreditation body established to help Singapore companies enhance competitiveness. In 2011, Dr. Kwok was invited to be a Judge and Conference Speaker for the 11th International Contact Centre Awards in Singapore. Dr. Kwok was an Adjunct Lecturer with the Singapore University of Social Sciences, SIM Global, PSB Academy and Singapore Human Resource Institute. Dr. Kwok holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Western Australia. He also earned his Bachelor of Science and Masters in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore, Masters in Educational Administration from the University of New South Wales, Diploma in Education and Specialist Diploma in E-learning Instructional Design from the National Institute of Education. He also obtained the ACTA Qualification from Institute of Adult Learning.Dr. Kwok has strong interests in and conducted research on problem-based learning, technology-enhanced learning, and development and validation of instruments using structural equation modeling. He has served as reviewer for conference papers, published papers in peer-reviewed academic journals and presented numerous papers at local and international conferences on higher education, educational technologies and hospitality education.
