Experienced CEO and product innovator with a 40-year history of working in the biotechnology industry. Strong business development experience especially in working with early-stage companies. Key professional skills include strategy development, intellectual property, business negotiations and translating complex science into commercial products. A serial entrepreneur with a track record of successes, Dr. Kyle has founded successful companies including Martek Biosciences, Advanced BioNutrition, and Evolve BioSystems (now Infinant Health). At Martek, he led R&D and Commercial Development for over 15 years and today Martek’s DHA and ARA are found in virtually every infant formula around the world and have fed billions of babies over the past 20 years. Martek went public in 1994 and had reached $450M in annual WW sales with 600 employees before it was acquired in 2011 for over $1B. In 2000, David co-founded the US Chapter of the Mother and Child Foundation, an organization headquartered in London dedicated to improving the health of pregnant women and their children through better nutrition. The following year he founded Advanced BioNutrition where he built the Company over the next 6 years. In 2013, he joined Evolve BioSystems in Davis California as CEO and led the Company through five venture capital financings totaling $136M and oversaw the launch of the Evivo product line for term and preterm infants. In 2017 he moved to Chairman of the Board and CSO and retired from operational management on Dec 31, 2021. David combines a distinguished scientific background with commercial acumen, has published over 80 scientific articles, edited two books, is the named inventor on over 200 patents, and was inducted into the US Space Technology Hall of Fame in 2009, for his contributions to US Science and Industry.
