Dave earned a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) registered in a number of states including the State of Florida. Dave is also a Certified General Contractor in the State of Florida. He was appointed as the Florida Building Commission’s Structural Engineer Commissioner by Governor Rick Scott. As part of his duties he sits on the Florida Building Commission’s Structural Technical Advisory Committee and Product Approval Program Oversight Committee that was integral to the 2017 Florida Building Code update, and currently working on the 2020 update.Dave has experience in the inspections, assessments and/or the design of:*Proposed and existing masonry, wood, steel and reinforced concrete structures*Cast-in-place, pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete transportation structures*Retrofitting existing structures for increased loading conditions*Telecommunications towers*Forensic evaluations of residential and chimerical structures for subsidence damage*Construction defects, fire damage, water intrusion and wind strom damage Dave is a FEMA certified Advanced Structures Specialist - STS2 and a member of the Tampa Bay Urban Search & Rescue Team - FL Task Force-3. Deployed to participate in operations to aid states affected by hurricanes, natural disasters and other catastrophic events.
