- On secondment to Codelco at El Teniente to learn and understand the finer points ofBlock Caving.- Establish communication and strengthen the technical network between Newcrest and Codelco.

-Managing underground development and production activities to achieve safety, quality and production level targets.-Development of the mining supervisory team and underground employees.-Daily and weekly planning of underground mining activities to achieve the requirements of the mine plan.-Identifying and implementing business improvement initiatives. Monitoring development and production results on a progressive basis and preparation of periodic progress and variance reports.-Maintaining knowledge of current statutory requirements and industry best practise and ensure compliance at all times.-Maintaining effective working relationships with Contractors, Suppliers and Service Providers, and ensure adherence to contractual requirements, by effective superintending of contracts.-Developing and managing mining operating and capital cost budgets.-Relief Manager – UG Mining, in times of absences.
