Oversee all aspects of payroll for 6,000+ hourly and salaried employees. Manage 12 direct reports and assist in payroll system conversions, design payroll management systems, implement hourly tracking program, process state and federal tax returns, W2s. • Reconcile month end accruals, taxation adjustments, and general ledger variances to ensure accuracy for accounting/payroll reporting presented to upper management on a fiscal quarter end • Prepare and reconcile 401k and 457b files and ensure payments are submitted • Create General Ledger accounts for new programs ensuring the structure is set-up accurately in the Dynamics/Great Plains payroll section• Establish tax procedures (Federal, State & Local Governments) to ensure payments were timely and followed required deadlines Key Accomplishments:• Streamlined and automated the KRONOS timekeeping system to the GP payroll system to reduce payroll discrepancies • Utilized Great Plains SMARTLIST system to design in-depth data exception reports to monitor inconsistencies related to overtime, double time, and benefit hours• Reduced expenses by developing an internal employee portal for viewing, printing paystubs, and W-2’s vs. a third-party vendor• Outlined the PTO tracking process to review and correct incorrect usage of Personal/Sick Leave

Directed and mentored 15 payroll professionals as well as managed the submittal of tax files, issued payroll reports for 401K submission, and provided labor reporting for operations and accounting. Assisted with the hiring and training of staff and evaluated performance reviews. • Created the general ledger tracking system for new programs, ensuring GL structure was set-up accurately in the GEAC payroll system• Reviewed federal and state unemployment and local tax returns to ensure payroll taxes were remitted in a timely manner• Participated in the development of the interface between the PeopleSoft HR system and the GEAC payroll systemKey Accomplishments:• Collaborated with external consultants to develop an automated process to link all timekeeping and GEAC payroll systems • Partnered with IT to create numerous text file reports for excel conversions to improve department productivity related to withholding and unemployment tax reporting, employee state/locality tax setup, and payments• Developed a process to manipulate data which resulted in zero fines or penalties paid to federal or state tax authorities within a 19-year timeframe• Developed an extensive downloadable error reporting system that reviewed all employee master records for both tax and demographic setup issues• Oversaw the Go Green” initiative by helping achieve a 97% direct deposit level and participated in the success of securing an outside vendor for paystub and W2 reporting for all employees within the company• Collaborated with all divisions of the company to supply wage and labor information which were used for forecasting, cost reporting, and general ledger reconciliation
