The new system replaces a legacy COBOL and DB2 system with a Quintiq-based solution. Quintiq is a COTS product designed specifically for solving business planning and optimization puzzles. The implementation in this case focuses on logistics and workforce planning. Quintiq follows object-oriented design principles and uses a proprietary programming language called Quill that is similar to languages like C# and Java. The development environment used Quintiq, Bitbucket for source control, Jira for project tracking, and followed an Agile Scrum-like software development methodology. Responsible for research and POC work, design, hands-on development, and training activities within a distributed development team based in three separate locations (Orlando FL, Delaware, and Pennsylvania).
