• Led a team of 4 Developers, responsible for managing the core “Review” entity. Oversaw the business logic, API layer, attributes, data structure, data pipelines, and storage solutions for reviews, ensuring data integrity, ease of access, and optimal performance in a large-scale and sensitive environment.• Envisioned and led my team to create the 'UGC View Layer,' an ambitious project that involved that involved continuously writing and aggregating real-time data from 30 different tables to ElasticSearch and Kafka using Apache Flink, while establishing a robust API layer. This system has since become foundational for all future endeavors requiring real-time, high-speed access to enriched review related data, both internally and externally.• Successfully led a massive and strategic project to establish a two-way syndication process of reviews between Shopify and Yotpo, coordinating efforts across 6 teams and domains including my own. This initiative involved preparation of a high-level technical design, estimations, and timelines done by our tech lead and myself. Oversaw day-to-day operations and fostered communication between various R&D teams, product managers, Senior R&D leadership, and Shopify representatives, ensuring alignment and timely execution.• Reduced team overhead and improved quality of life by implementing automated systems such as retry mechanisms, organizing production alerts, reevaluating response strategies, and establishing clear expectations and lifecycle processes for bugs and product requests with Support and Product Teams.• Experienced in recruiting and cultivating talent, with a proven track record of identifying and hiring skilled professionals while fostering their growth through mentorship and professional development initiatives.

• Responsible for overseeing design reviews, dailies, sprint plannings and retrospectives, while mentoring a team of 5.• Led, designed, and executed crucial projects focused on high-scale implementation, leveraging Java, micro-services architecture, data processing, streaming, and infrastructure technologies such as Apache Flink/Spark, Kafka, AWS Lambdas, and Kubernetes.• Significantly reduced network traffic, production incidents and cost for our group, and helped establish clear organizational ownership boundaries by leading the redistribution and arrangement of network traffic between our API clusters. This involved organizing load balancing on Ingress/Nginx, provisioning and configuring a new API cluster for the platform group with its own traffic, and managing a complex rollout.• Optimized production environments by introducing various enhancements and efficiency measures, leveraging technologies such as Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring, ELK stack for log management and analytics, Nginx for load balancing and web server management, and Jenkins and Docker for continuous integration and deployment.• Was heavily involved in maintenance of key production components such as the group’s AWS RDS and MSK (AWS managed Kafka cluster). Handled incidents, optimizations and coordinated with AWS solution engineers.

This process aggregated and indexed large volumes of data into ElasticSearch to serve as a view table. I defined the index, managed the migration to ElasticSearch, handled client page communication, and oversaw a complex rollout.• Extensive experience with SQL for relational databases, and proficiency in MongoDB and ElasticSearch for NoSQL data storage solutions.
